Established in 2010, China Potato Expo which has been successfully held by six times, is the only international-level potato exhibition convened in China. With the features of high starting point, dedicated specialty, complete industrial chains and wide participation, the Expo has obtained extensive attention and high reputation in the industry. Every year, the Expo attracts over 200 of domestic and overseas exhibitors, together with more than 4,000 professional visitors. Besides of display and demonstration, the Expo will organize forums and seminars concerning industrial hotspots, playing an important role in promoting the overall and healthy development of the industry and the market, as well as friendly communication of the potato industry at home and abroad.
The Potato Expo 2016 once again focused on the local potato industry development and was held in Yunnan. It is also the first time that the Expo was held in the Southwest potato production area of China. It attracted 120 exhibitors from 9 countries, including Holland, USA, Russia and Canada etc. The latest products and technologies, from both home and abroad, in the fields of research, production, processing, storage and transportation, marketing, etc. of potato, sweet potato, cassava, yam and other potato crops have been comprehensively displayed on the show.
Seven technical conferences including China Potato Industry Development Forum, Seminar of manufacturing machines for the potato industry in Asian-Pacific region, Sino-Europe potato technical exchange workshop, and seminar of potato farm management and pest control were held currently with the show. After the expo, more than 100 representatives took part in the field visit of the Yunnan Potato Industry.
